Avoice is an AI workspace built specifically for architecture firms, launched via Y Combinator’s Winter 2026 batch. The platform ingests a firm’s drawings, specifications, schedules, material libraries, building codes, and historical projects to build a connected knowledge base that grows with the practice. Rather than intervening in the design process, Avoice handles the documentation and coordination work that typically consumes 40-50% of an architect’s working week.

The core capability is AI-generated specifications. Avoice drafts technical specs from a firm’s own drawings and product selections, classified under Uniclass 2015, CAWS, and CSI MasterFormat. Crucially, it cross-references specifications against drawings and schedules to flag inconsistencies before they reach the contractor. This makes it a direct alternative to NBS Chorus for studios wanting AI-native drafting rather than a manually updated clause library.

Beyond specifications, Avoice handles quality control checks, schedules of quantities, material and supplier research, and construction administration tasks. A research agent autonomously searches for products based on the architect’s criteria, contacts suppliers by email, and collects product data sheets. As the firm’s past project knowledge is ingested, the platform gradually encodes practice standards and preferences, becoming more tailored over time.

Avoice has been featured in Dezeen for its claim that it levels the playing field between small and large architecture firms. Firms on the platform currently manage over $300 million in active construction projects across five countries. It is backed by Y Combinator and is an early but credible new entrant to the UK architecture software market.
